Characteristics of the golf course

The guests and visitors of the Hotel Navarras have at their disposal one of the best courses in the region of Oporto and even in all of Portugal.

The Amarante Golf Club, in Quinta da Deveza, only 35 minutes away from the center of the city of Oporto by the highway A4, has the advantage of the magnificent landscape north of the Douro, created by the river Tâmega and by the mountain ridge of Marão.

The Golf of Amarante is located at an approximate height of 600 meters and occupies about 100 acres. It is a true mountain course, presenting 7 par 3 holes, 8 par 4 holes and 3 par 5 holes, with a variety of lakes and sand bunkers along the course.


Golf course description

The par 5 holes are numbers 1, 12 and 18. The first, in steep descent, has 495 meters in length, and the last, relatively short at only 447 meters, presents a not to steep ascent. 

The 12th hole, with 455 meters, has a lake on the right, which requires an energic strike to pass, and a fence on the left side that marks the out of bounds. The green is well protected by 4 bunkers.

The course can not be considered difficult. It has excellent fast greens, although, in general, they are all small.
